Hello, my name is Jasmyn and I will be talking about what we did today in Costa Rica. Today, I woke up at 8:15 AM, Because we had a little bit of free time before the traditional Costa Rican games started at 10 AM. So, I woke up, got in the shower, brushed my teeth, and got dressed for the day. Me and my roommate are a breakfast which consisted of a breakfast sandwich filled with ham, egg, and cheese, toast with jam, and coffee for me, and tea for my roommate. After we finished eating, we started walking to the mall, because we had extra time before we had to be at ULatina (the university) for the games. So, me and my roommate walked to mall and shopped for a bit. Afterwards, we walked to ULatina (the university) for the traditional Costa Rican games. When we got there, the options were either soccer or bingo. Me and some of friends all chose bingo. Others chose soccer, Some decided to not even play a game at all. Overall, the games were fun to play. These games included soccer and bingo. They were all extremely fun to do. After the games, we had some free time to do whatever. Me and my friends decided to stay at the university, grab something to eat, sit down, and just talk, laugh, and play card games. After our free time was over, we had classes from 1-6. Time flew for the classes, because we had a big project to work on and a final to study for tomorrow. After class, in honor of the 4th of July, we made American Flag kabob with strawberries, blueberries, and marshmallows. They were fun to make and fun to eat. After this, we were all let go to have free time before our curfew at 9. Me and my friends all went to mall and went shopping for a while. Then, we went to our friend’s house to work on our project. After a hour of working, the rest of us started to walk back to our houses. When me and my roommate got home, we ate rice, beans, and potatoes with meat with tortillas. It was delicious..After we ate, we went to sleep. Today was a fun day in Costa Rica!

An experience like this is impossible without support from parents. The district 215 parents of the 28 students headed to Costa Rica have been the most supportive parents imaginable. They have attended meetings, participated in fund raising events, attended more meetings, financially funded the adventure, purchased suitcases, gotten passports, exchanged US dollares into colones, made packing lists, done research on Costa Rica and international travel, made doctor appointments, brainstormed host family gifts, spoken to cell phone providers about international plans, talked to banks about international travel clearance on debit cards, purchased travel necesities, and spoken with their son or daugher about the opportunity and given them encouragement, trust, and support, perhaps even in the face of th...
